From now until January 31, 2013, Knott's will honor all those who protect life and property with Fire and Police Recognition Days. Active duty police and fire employees and one guest can get into Knott's for free! Up to six additional admissions can be purchased for only  $19.00. There are even discounted rates at the Knott's Hotel through January 6, 2013. Select the Military Tribute options when making your reservation

Until January 6, 2013, all U.S. Veterans, retired and active  military personnel and their spouse (or guest) are free. Up to 6 additional tickets may be purchased for only $25.00 each. There are even discounted rates at the Knott's Hotel through January 6, 2013. Select the Military Tribute options when making your reservation

Also, if you are a AAA member you can get 30% off of the admission price.

Free National Parks Day 2012

Knott's Berry Farm will once again partner with the Orange County Food Bank to help fight hunger in Southern California. Every guest who donates 2 or more cans at the park between January 2-31 will receive a Regular adult admission for the price of $27.99. Fire and Law Tribute Days

Now - January 31st*
Knott's will honor all those who protect life and property with Fire and Law Tribute Days.  FREE admission to the park will be offered to all active fire and law personnel and one guest*.  All fire or law personnel must provide a photo I.D. stating the agency they work for. Fire and Law Tribute Days includes sworn and non-sworn personnel in law enforcement or fire authority only.   Up to six additional tickets can be purchased for only $17 each.*Eligible person must be present. Nixon Library Free on President's Day

Here's your chance to visit the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, Ca. free on President's Day! President's Day is February 20th, 2012. There will be free cherry pie to the first 100 guests!

What a great way to celebrate our presidents and learn a little bit more about history. You can see the tiny house that Nixon was born in and pay a visit to his gravesite. The Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is maintained by the Richard Nixon Foundation.

LA County Fair

Since I seem to be writing a lot about the Fair Circuit this year, I thought I might as well follow the county fair up the California coast to it's next destination - Los Angeles. 

Below are their special promotions and discounts available for admission.

Labor Day Weekend Opening, Saturday, Sept. 3-Monday, Sept. 5

Admission 
Just $1, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3 to Monday, Sept. 5. 
Admission 1 pm-closing opening Labor Day Weekend is $17 for ages 13 and older and $12 for ages 6-12. 
Beverage
22oz. soft drinks, just $1 at all food & beverage stands, 1- 4 p.m.
Carnival 
$1 rides, games and select food and beverage items in the Carnival, 4-7 p.m. 

Season Pass 
An outstanding offer -- a Season Pass good any day of the Fair for ages 6 and older for just $29.95. Show pass to a Fair parking attendant and receive a free parking upgrade, a $5 value, good weekdays. 

Advance-Group Sales
General admission any-day adults tickets are available for $10 and any-day tickets for ages 6-12 are $6, with a minimum order of 20 adult general admission tickets. Tickets may be ordered on consignment with a minimum order of 100 adult general admission tickets. Each adult and child group ticket comes with an exclusive unlimited ride carnival wristband offer (purchase required, restrictions apply).

American Red Cross
A Blood Drive will be held at the Sheraton Fairplex hotel Wednesday, Aug. 17 and Monday, Sept. 12, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., and generous donors receive a ticket to return any weekday to the 2011 L.A. County Fair. 

Bingo Bash Wednesdays

Book Drive Thursdays
Free admission Thursdays, noon-6 p.m., with a donation of a new or gently used book. Books will be donated to a charity with a portion returning to a local community-based organization.

California Classics Day - Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 24 & 25
The top stakes races take place along with a classic car show on the apron on Saturday. We will pre-promote the excitement of the stakes races leading up to the weekend. Click here to view the stakes schedule!
Children ages 6-12 are admitted to the Fair weekends for $12 & $7 Wed - Fridays. Ages 5 and
younger are admitted free every day.

College Days
Specific college campuses will be featured during the Fair, with students, faculty and staff receiving one free admission on their respective college day. Alumni will receive half-price admission on their respective day. Coupon or voucher required for all college day discounts. Participants are encouraged to wear school colors on their day.

CSUSB, Friday, Sept. 30

Day At The Races
Value-packed weekend, weekday and VIP packages for groups of four or more. The packages include admission, seating and lunch buffet on the Terrace overlooking the first turn, or box seating at the finish line, Winners Circle photo, and race named in honor of your group. Special packages are available for larger groups. Call (909) 865-4094.

FairKids Field Trips
Teachers of classes from preschool through eighth grade may bring a chaperoned school group to the Fair, free of charge. School trips are held Wednesday through Friday, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7. Groups visit various educational Fair exhibits, including Jurassic Planet, FairView Farms, California’s Heritage Square, America’s Kids, Millard Sheets Center for the Arts and many other exhibits. Special shows and events are scheduled specially for the FairKids program. The educational extravaganza offers teachers and students hands-on experiences that cannot be found anywhere else. Must be reserved in advance. Subject to availability, call (909) 865-4075.

$5 after 5
Fair admission is just $5 after 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays; a perfect way to spend an evening. A coupon available online must be presented to receive discount.

Fridays Budweiser Beer Jockey
One jockey will be selected each Friday. Every time the jockey wins a race, a special size draft Budweiser Beer will go on sale at a reduced price after the race is official and until the next race runs. Patrons will delight in cheering on the Beer Jockey as well as pay attention to the races as they are run.

Los Angeles County Day
Held Sunday, Sept. 11. Good for employees of Los Angeles County only. A Buy One-Get One free admission coupon for that day only will be available to all county employees. A special parade honoring Los Angeles County will take place at noon.

McDonald's Wednesdays
$20 admission Wednesdays, which includes an unlimited carnival ride wristband. Vouchers are available at participating Southern California McDonald’s restaurants

NTRA Handicapping Contest Saturdays and Sundays
On each day, 165 entrants participate for $15,000 in cash prizes and qualifying three spots into $1,000,000 (estimated) DRF/NTRA World Series of Horseracing Tournament January 2011

Online Pre-Sale Admission Tickets through Aug. 31
Purchase any-day admission tickets online beginning July 31 for just $10. Available until Aug. 31. 

Race Fan Club Card
Race Fan Club Cards are available at the Fairplex Park satellite wagering facility. The card is good for $7 admission, for up to two admissions per day per card. The card must be obtained prior to Fair. Card can be used for account wagering.

Ralphs Any-Day Ticket
Come to any participating Ralphs grocery store beginning Aug. 30 to purchase admission tickets for just $10 for adults and $6 for ages 6-12. Presented by Ralphs. Each Ralphs adults and child any-day admission ticket comes with an exclusive unlimited ride carnival wristband offer (purchase required, restrictions apply).

Ralphs Food Drive Fridays
Guests must bring five Ralphs private label canned products Fridays for a free Fair admission good that day only, noon- 6 p.m. only. The canned products will be collected by Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. A portion of the canned goods will be donated to the honored community of the day for distribution to their charity. Presented by Ralphs.

RCS Fun Pass
Fun and easy from Ray Cammack Shows, no more paper tickets! Just purchase a Fun Pass at any carnival ticket booth. Fill ‘er up and swipe for carnival rides, games and fun in the midway. Cash will not be accepted at carnival games. RCS Fun Pass is your ticket! Carnival rides require 3-12 tickets for each ride.

Seniors
Ages 60+ are admitted to the Fair for just $6 on Senior Wednesdays. Groups of 20 seniors or more receive $5 admission and can take advantage of a Senior Club Discount Card with $1 off Fair admission Wednesdays, Senior Days. Seniors ages 60 and older are admitted for $14 weekends, $9 weekdays and just $6 Wednesdays, Senior Days RCS offers free rides on Ferris wheels in the carnival. Now that’s a sweet deal! Senior Wednesday combos are available for $15—discount admission &choice of a special meal deal.

Weekend for Heroes 
Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11, active and retired military, reserves, police, fire and paramedics, with ID, along with one guest, can attend the Fair for $1 each; proceeds from the $1 admissions will be donated to USA Cares. Wiener Dog Races - Saturday, Sept. 10
Who will win at the home s-t-r-e-t-c-h? Up to eight qualifying heats run between horse races (beginning at 1:10 p.m.) with finals at 4:30 p.m.. Up to $1,600 in prizes.

A limited number of free, general admission concert tickets are available at the ticket kiosk located on Rose Lane at 3 p.m., concert days, first come first served. Everyone wishing a ticket must be present.
